Binance has opened public voting for The Blockchain 100, 2026, and bonuz founder Matthias Mende is on the shortlist for Community Influencer of the Year. Anyone with a Binance account can vote, and every account can vote again each day until the polls close. Binance names the winners on 29 October, and the top 10 Community Influencers are invited to Binance Blockchain Week 2026 in Bangkok.
Vote for Professor Mende on Binance
Who is Professor Mende?
Mende has lived in Dubai since 2007. He co-founded the Dubai Blockchain Center and founded bonuz. On Binance Square he posts as Professor Mende, almost every day, to more than 42,500 followers: market news, plain explainers and honest takes on where crypto is going.
The community has voted for him before. In 2024 he was named Binance Square Creator of the Year and took the award on stage in Dubai. In 2025 he made The Blockchain 100 as Industry Advocate. Both titles came from community votes, not a jury.
"Square became my daily notebook," Mende says. "Both times, you voted me in. Thank you, really."
What happened since the last award
He kept posting, and he kept building. Across bonuz and his side projects, Mende has shipped more than 2.5 million lines of code, a number he can back up from his git history.
bonuz is the result: a human layer for Web3. People join quests at real events, collect rewards they can actually use, and carry one bonuz ID everywhere they go. Brands get a way to meet real people instead of buying ads.
"Crypto should feel like a game you play in real life, not a chart you stare at," he says. "Nobody read a manual to play Pokemon Go. You just went outside and started."
On the way he also shipped easyBTX, one-click $BTX mining on Mac and Windows. On 1 and 2 December he speaks at Blockchain Life 2026 in Dubai.
Why this vote matters for Web3
Most people still meet crypto through charts and jargon. Creators who explain it in plain words, and builders who turn it into things people use every day, are how the next wave of users arrives. A Community Influencer award sends a clear signal: the Binance community values the people who bring others in.
For bonuz users it keeps a builder who speaks their language in front of one of the largest audiences in crypto. For Web3 as a whole, it rewards new real-world use cases over hype.
